Global content creator, producer and distributor Endemol Shine Group today announce multiple scripted commissions from Endemol Shine Italy.

Missing is a new crime drama where two teenage girls mysteriously disappear from a small and apparently idyllic seaside town. Rai1, the flagship network of Italian public broadcaster, has ordered a first series made of 12 prime-time episode which will air later this year.

Rai1 has also commissioned a seventh season of crime comedy The Teacher, where a high-school literary teacher  finds herself accidentally involved in complicated murder cases that she solves while shuttling between school and family. Based on Margherita Oggero’s best selling novels, eight episodes are currently in production.

The Italian pubcaster has also ordered 12 episodes of the second season of The Good Apprentice, a successful prime-time crime comedy where a young and smart forensic science intern gets involved in the resolution of crime cases far beyond her forensic duties. The series is based on Alessia Gazzola’s best-seller novels. She’s one of the youngest and most promising Italian writers.

These deals follow the huge success of chilling 6 part drama Sisters on Rai1. Telling the tangled story of two sisters, one who disappears and the other a lawyer who rekindles a love affair with her sister’s husband. The finale was watched by an impressive 6. 2 million viewers and a 27.15% share, beating all competition in its prime time slot and making the show one of  Italy’s most watched original scripted series dramas.

Meanwhile Canale 5 has ordered 10 episodes of Tuscan Passion, fourth season of a saga of two rival wine producing families which is currently in production.
